Downtown Montgomery’s morning stops are on Dexter Avenue, where Prevail Union pours coffee in the Kress Building, and Montgomery Street, home of D’Road Cafe. The sit-down breakfast restaurants are farther out, on Zelda Road, Vaughn Road and at Eastchase, and the 24-hour diners are spread across the city.
How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Montgomery’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 17, 2026. We added The Bubbly Hen, D’Road Cafe and First Watch from their own sites. We left out Cahawba House, whose website has expired, and cafes whose own site we could not reach. The list is alphabetical. The places
The Bubbly Hen on Vaughn Road is a locally owned brunch restaurant that serves brunch seven days a week. Its menu runs from biscuits and gravy to Benedicts and shrimp and grits, and it takes online orders. Our brunch page has more.
D’Road Cafe is a Venezuelan and Latin cafe on Montgomery Street downtown. Its site says breakfast is served all day and offers dine-in and takeout, with Latin pastries, artisan breads and cafe con leche on Saturdays. It is closed Sunday.
First Watch is a daytime breakfast, brunch and lunch chain with two Montgomery restaurants. Its location pages offer dine-in, takeout and delivery, and say the restaurant has an outdoor patio.
IHOP is the pancake restaurant chain. Its Montgomery page lists one restaurant, on Eastern Boulevard, open around the clock for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Krispy Kreme has one Montgomery doughnut shop, on Atlanta Highway, with a drive-thru that closes 15 minutes before the shop, according to its page.
Prevail Union is the cafe of Prevail Coffee, a roaster headquartered in Montgomery. The cafe is inside the historic Kress Building off Dexter Avenue, and its page notes street parking nearby.
